Event Director Role Overview
The successful candidate will take full ownership of major events from concept through post-event evaluation, leading internal teams, managing suppliers, and maintaining accountability for budgets and commercial performance across multiple simultaneous projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale events, from concept through delivery and post-event evaluation
- Develop event strategies, project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
- Oversee multiple events and projects simultaneously within scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards
- Act as senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate internal teams across event management, production, creative, logistics, and operations
- Manage external suppliers, contractors, venues, and production partners
- Maintain accountability for event budgets, cost control, and profitability
- Identify project risks and develop contingency and mitigation plans
- Ensure compliance with regulations, permits, and safety requirements
- Lead on-site event operations, including readiness, rehearsals, and execution
- Support business development through proposals, pitches, and client presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field
- Fluency in English and French required; Arabic highly preferred
- 8+ years of relevant events experience, including large-scale or complex projects
- Proven experience in a senior event management or leadership position
- Strong knowledge of event production, operations, logistics, budgeting, and supplier management
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours based on event requirements
