Position Overview
The Senior Director, Event Mobility Planning will establish and lead integrated mobility planning for major events, festivals, sporting competitions, and entertainment activations across the city programme. The role covers the safe, efficient, and coordinated movement of guests, athletes, performers, VIPs, workforce, and emergency services across venues, districts, and transport modes — acting as the City Operations mobility lead and coordination authority for major events.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Programme Event Mobility Strategy, governance framework, and planning calendar
- Lead the development of integrated Event Mobility Plans from concept through live delivery and post-event review
- Oversee Traffic Management Plans, access-control strategies, and event parking strategies
- Design integrated bus, shuttle, public transport, and ride-hailing service plans for major events
- Develop mobility plans for VIP, hospitality, and protocol movements in coordination with security and protocol teams
- Lead mobility readiness reviews, tabletop exercises, and live rehearsals ahead of major events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Transport Planning, Civil or Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in transport planning, mobility operations, or major event transport
- At least 8 years in senior leadership roles, ideally supporting major events such as FIFA World Cup or Olympic transport planning
- Experience in Saudi Arabia, the GCC, or giga-project environments strongly preferred
